POMONA, Calif. – Morgan Lucas piloted his Lucas Oil Top Fuel dragster into the No. 13 position with a good, steady pass in Friday’s qualifying for the Auto Club NHRA Finals at the Auto Club Raceway at Pomona.. “It’s Pomona and Pomona is going to be this way,” said a determined Lucas in discussing the competitive Top Fuel division. “We just had to make sure we got into the field. We’re going to tune it up for tomorrow knowing we have plenty of power left. Our teammate, Melanie (Troxel) had a good run today, so we’ll be trying to do the same thing for us tomorrow.”Qualifying continues with two more sessions on Saturday beginning at 12 and 3:30 p.m. PDT.
